Free Sperm - all natural insemination

Oh my goodness. :stuck_out_tongue: Women are actually falling for this? They made a movie about natural insemination called Midnight Cowboy with Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman.

I’ll match his generous offer of free sperm and include free drinks and dinner.

What are they “falling for”?
It sounds like they’re getting exactly what. I’m sure some of the guys are doing it for the sex but it doesn’t sound like anyone is getting tricked.

I thinking somebody has trolled 20/20.

There’s no way a guy could go around impregnating random women like this Joe claims he’s doing. His scam would only last until the first time one of these women decided to sue for child support. He’s going to be fully liable.

I was wondering about that too.
Is there some kind of contract they can sign to waive child support?
Sperm banks would need something like that, no?

I plan to watch 20/20 tonight and hear the full story. I expect they’ll ask about his legal liability.

I can’t help but laugh at their euphemism, naturally inseminated for screwing.

Contracts to waive child support are not enforeable, because the obligation is nominally to the child not the custodial parent.

And the custodial parent doesn’t always have discretion either. Anyone applying for social assistance for a child is required to name a father, and from that point the welfare people will go after him on their own. (I imagine most of these women are not applying for social assistance, but circumstances change.)

Sperm banks are specifically exempted by law.

Yeah, what are they falling for? Sounds like the women get what was advertised.

"It’s not a one-night stand! It’s natural insemination!

Oh, well. Then it’s called “adultery” with “unprotected sex” and “putting your primary partner at risk for STDs”.

It’s hard to complain about getting screwed when that’s what you explicitly paid for.

This reminds me of a news story from many years ago. A married couple couldn’t conceive, so they paid a neighbor to have sex with her. After numerous attempts, they found out that the neighbor was sterile.

Sounds like we’re missing the next sentence that makes a punch line.

I’ve heard of ladies stopping birth control when they decide its time for a baby. A few one night stands and mission accomplished. I guess thats ok if she has a good job or career and can support the child on her own.

This guy in the article seems a little creepy to me. He’s got this goal of producing 100 babies. Like that somehow validates his manhood. I’m not convinced his motives are to nobly help women that want a baby. Not to mention doing this behind his wife’s back.

That’s the one where the neighbour was supposedly a father of four…

I think “screwing” is the euphemism.

It may seem impossible to us mere mortals, but some guys really do just have the knack of being effortlessly able to find women who’ll sleep with them. This guy is simply one who has found a slightly more meaningful use for his “talents”.

Geez, 20/20’s reporting has slipped a lot. There wasn’t a lot of hard questions at all. I don’t think they even asked about legal issues like child support for the kids this guy helps create. I had to leave the room for a pee break but otherwise watched all the segments. The whole hour is focused on various sex reports. The porn star couple was interesting. He insisted that she retire, while he continues boning for a living.

Seriously? “Reporting” is something journalists do. Once you put it on television it stops being journalism and becomes little more than titillation-mongering.

ETA: Not that I have any particular problem with being pandered to with a little titillation. I just find that mislabeling it as “journalism” is beneath contempt.

 That assumes the mother actually has half an idea who the sperm donor was. I’ve taken home more than one friend who wouldn’t have been in a state to tell.

I thought there were cases where sperm bank donors turned out to be on the hook for child support.

There was an article on the BBC web site recently about a Dutch guy who does a lot of freelance insemination:

Is Ed Houben Europe’s most virile man?
