In this thread from earlier in the month, Aslan2 asked about free usenet.
I have a similar question. I don’t mind paying for it, but I’d like usenet access that isn’t restricted to IP addresses parsed out by the same company’s servers. Both my original (dialup) ISP and my DSL ISP company (Earthlink and Verizon, respectively, if you must know) have implemented barriers of that sort so that it doesn’t matter if I have a verifiable username and password combo, I still can’t access newsgroups except when I’m connected via dialup (Earthlink) or DSL (Verizon).
Anyone recommend an inexpensive ‘bring-your-own-connection=OK’ usenet provider that tends to keep pretty much everything available on server and up-to-date?
