I just got an email from a family member urging me to go to www.freetixfliks.com so we can get free movie tickets.
Now, I’m about as skeptical as they come so my initial reaction is that it is a spammers ploy of some type. Nothing came up on a search so I’m asking here, is it for real? Will it put spybot software on my computer?

It sounds pretty much like those “free $50 gift card” messages I keep getting. Sure, if I spend $500 dollars at one of the sponsors I’ll get my “free” gift card.
One of those promised a $25 restaurant gift certificate if i answered a survey. I was skeptical but decided to try it out. I answered the questions, and refused all the extra “newsletters” and when I finally got to the page where I was to choose the restaurant, I did so and…
nothing happened. I mean, nothing. I clicked and clicked and it would go no further.
Well, why should it? They’d gotten their info so why bother giving anything away.
That time I sent a complaint to the effect that I felt it was fraudulent, but of course I never heard anything back.
Now they all just get put in the circular file immediately.
