Mostly irrelevant in this case : for the grand majority of trials in France, there’s no jury (though there may be multiple judges). The Assize Court (and Assize Appeals Court) is the only one to use them, and it’s only involved in the most serious felonies. So, there’s no strong social or governmental pressure to do your jury duty here, as there is in the US, for the simple reason that a citizen will very likely go from cradle to grave without ever being asked to.
