Fried Green Tomatoes - Which variety makes the best?

It’s getting onto Springtime, and the garden is calling. I know I’m going to be planting several varieties of tomato this year, and I know the wife loves her some fried green tomatoes. So I asked the Teeming Millions - which variety of tomato is the best in its green state? I’m willing to commit a pot to tomatoes that we never let ripen. It’s not like I’m lacking space.

Any help?

Bump.

Anybody?

Bueller?

Bradley Pink tomatoes make good fried ones. I grow Arkansas girls and Early girls and have fried many of them. They’re all good. You need a tomato that’s large even when green, IMO.

Since green tomotoes, being unripe, don’t really have much, if any, flavor anyway, go for whatever will be the size you’re looking for.
