And as I always add to that ---- great friends help you make the body the good friend helps you move. 
I don’t recall seeing the prank posts, but somewhere I got the idea Idle Thoughts was female. Possibly someone who was fooled by the pranks used a feminine pronoun to refer to him and no one corrected the use. Or perhaps they were doing so ironically and I didn’t catch it.
I’m gobsmacked! I thought everyone had 900 Friends.
If you put a poster on “ignore”, will they disappear from your “friends” list?

I never considered the Friends feature until Idle Thoughts used it on me. I just look for familiar names from the years I’ve been here, read what they have to say, and maybe respond. They’re all formless, bodyless entities to me until I meet them in rl.
Idle Thoughts does a great job befriending posters whose posts he has found interesting in the past. After 15 years here he’s my only friend. I don’t think that necessarily means anything though, the concepts of Friend and Like,etc don’t really fit here (thank goodness).
I’m reminded of an MTV commercial from long ago.

I just noticed that I have a friend request from Idle Thoughts. Finally my dream has come true. I do the dance of joy.

Looks like he’s working hard to get to that 1000 level. I wonder what kind of prize he gets. :cogitates: Well, I just saw an article about a 100-year-old fruitcake they just found in Antarctica. They say it’s almost good enough to eat, which means being frozen improved it. Anyway, we could give him that.
Distant cousins, maybe. Not close enough to borrow money if either of us wins one of the two big jackpots currently up for grabs.
Idle bribed me into being his friend with promises of a burger. A burger I have yet to receive.

I have a friend request pending, but when I try to accept it nothing happens. Technical issue, perhaps? I’ve tried two different browsers and two different computers.
It’s unintuitive how it works. When you go to see pending friend requests, you’ll see a list of them. You need to check off the box for each potential-friend in the list, and then click “accept”. It’s just not obvious that this is what you need to do, because the list probably only has one request in it.
Is it Idle Thoughts?
