IIRC, if you add a bunch of people, and those people decline your friending, FB asks if they know you. I guess if enough people say “no”, they temporary suspend you from being able to use FB. I’ve only heard of that happening to a couple of people, though.
Yeah !!! Come on people, all the cool kids are doing it.
That is in itself an insult. If you think you have been misunderstood, then a less inflammatory manner of addressing that issue is to rephrase your comments to invite further discussion.
I am not answering your questions in the form that they were put because they are irrelevant to my argument. I am not going to open up the details of my personal relationships to you, particularly when your question is loaded with mountains of sarcasm and contempt.
And I told you that those questions were irrelevant to my argument and they were insulting besides. And your subsequent behavior has revealed only further inclination to insulting behavior.
Address the actual arguments I have made and I might respond. I will not accept questions phrased in a way that intrudes upon my personal relationships. And if you can’t think of anything to say that isn’t based on my private life, then you don’t have anything worth saying.
Pretty much exactly how I feel. I don’t necessarily want Facebook not to exist, since I know so many other people love it, but it’s not for me and I really don’t like it’s increasing prevalence as a necessity for doing things unrelated to posting food pictures, LolCats, or keeping in touch with family or people you went to high school with.
It’s been the subject of several articles on mainstream news websites over the previous few years; here’s one from last year suggesting people who aren’t on Facebook might be sociopaths.
I’ll admit that it’s not fair, but when I hear people I know don’t have or don’t use Facebook it always feels kind of hipsterish and elitist, like the people who come on here who go and brag about not having a TV because they’re too busy with their books. Of course, keep in mind that this is only when I hear it from people in my age group and I’m in my early 20s. Granted the only people I’ve experienced this from in real life are smug snakes in general, probably biasing me a tad.
Like I said, I know it’s not fair, but it is my kneejerk reaction, just as a datapoint to the “who is actually suggesting this” question.
