Fuck Jerry Seinfeld

Saw him on his first Tonight Show and he was a favorite stand-up of mine for years. Loved the show, still do, for about the first 5-6 years, thought it sucked after that.

Just found out today he is worth almost a billion dollars. A billion dollars! For co-creating a sitcom. What a great contribution to humanity.

Fuck him. Why isn’t he giving most of his money to charity? Why would’t anyone with that much money? I just cannot understand those people. If I won $200 million in the lottery I do not play, I can’t even conceive of keeping it all.

Jerry Seinfeld – Comedian, Actor, and Philanthropist. What a fucking joke. He hosts a few events each year and his foundation has collected $42 million from other people who donated.

This is why I don’t believe true progressive change and the end of the oligarchy is possible in the near future. Human beings are not nearly evolved enough for that. Humans are fucking selfish, even the “nice guys.”

Do you know what a foundation is?

I do. He still has 950 million dollars in his bank account. Doesn’t address my pitting.

Wait; your objection to him is that he’s really rich? And what the fuck do you know about how much he has given to charity?

Perhaps the lamest pitting in history.

Is there anyone who has amassed a fortune that you think “deserves” it?

The best Jerry Seinfeld standup ever (don’t worry, there is no actually Jerry Seinfeld)

We’ve been through this before with Mike. He thinks celebrities should work for free.

I didn’t say he doesn’t deserve to have made money, a lot of it. I was editing my post to say that actors, athletes, deserve to be well paid but missed the edit window. My fault for not reposting. I know how much he has given because I went to many websites hoping that he had done more. The best I could find was the one I posted. Other websites can very easily list the amounts others have given, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 45 billion and dozens of others, the record is clear of what people donated. But Seinfeld really was just an example of the culture of wealth in this country, it doesn’t matter how much money most of them make, it is NEVER enough. A baseball player making $100 million a year packs up his whole family and moves across country with his kids because he can make $130 million on another team.

Lamest response to a pitting in history. I never said no one deserved to be paid for it. A lot of people who have amassed a fortune deserver to be well paid for it. Bill Gates deserves to be rich, so does Springsteen, a thousand others. They do things that only a small percentage of people can do. Do you really believe a sitcom is worth almost a billion dollars? Then you are part of the problem.

I can get behind this one. I don’t know the answer, or who’s to blame, but I’d like to think we can all agree that any system where a person is worth more than $1,000,000,000.00, with probably 1/3 of his life still to live and earn more money, could use some work.

I think Seinfeld, and lots of other celebrities, CEOs, etc. work really hard, and should have really nice lives. Some of them can afford mansions and private jets and lots of travel and lots of staff and the very best of everything, for the rest of their lives, for a fraction of their worth. The rest of the money just sits there in accounts, helping nobody and making more money.

No I did not say that. I was wrong about Masterclass. I did not realize that you paid a one-time, very reasonable fee, that gave you access to many classes. But I did not say celebrities should work for free, I just wished more of them did.

No . . . but your pit threads are priceless.

Care to elaborate? I’m really interested , I didn’t know anyone paid any attention or remembered anything I have posted, I sure as hell don’t remember anything you have. And that is not a criticism of you, I just don’t remember you. I admit I have made a couple of ill-advised pittings, like the one where I jumped all over Robbie Robertson of The Band, one of my favorite bands, when a new doc came out a year or two ago. So you tell me in your opinion where else I fucked up?

Then I will do the same for you.

How can you do the same for me when you “sure as hell don’t remember anything you” (I) posted?

(And this is why Mike deserves the big bucks!)

This pitting is one of the stupidest I’ve seen in a long time. A pitiful pitting.

“Why isn’t he giving most of his money to charity?”

What a whining asshole. This is what gets you up in arms? You’re pathetic

I will do the same for you when I look up all your past posts. I don’t remember any of them, for all I know they are the most intelligent and well reasoned posts on the whole board. You tell ime that my pit threads are silly, tell me why.

Fuck you, you are pathetic. Defending billonaires for keeping all that money for themselves. Well it is the American Way, you make a billion dollars, you deserve every dollar of it, not matter how you got it. Ok yeah, I am a whining asshole, maybe you meant to say “bledding heart liberal” or is your term now “radical socialistt” hoping that anyone who is worth $950 million dollars would want to give most of it away to charity. To be a goddamn decent human being and give back to the country that has allowed him to make such a ridiculous fortune, made in a country protected by our military, paid for by my and your tax dollars, in a free market economy, defended by our Constitution.

Q: Whoever accused Jerry Seinfeld of being nice?

Bleeding heart liberals have more legitimate things to worry about than Jerry Seinfeld’s charitable contributions.

HA. His character on the show wasn’t. But in general he is perceiveved as one, and hell, he is in his real life, I am sure. He is not a bad man. Just an average guy who has $950 million.

It was unfair for me to single him out.

Did anyone other than you even read this?

This is why I don’t believe true progressive change and the end of the oligarchy is possible in the near future. Human beings are not nearly evolved enough for that. Humans are fucking selfish, even the “nice guys.”

I endorse this pitting. The super rich should regularly be rhetorically shat upon for not doing more good with their wealth, just on principle. Great wealth should come with great responsibility, and most of those with great wealth are not living up to this.
