Seriously, Andrew Yang? Marianne Williamson? Tulsi Gabbard? No offense, but Mayor Pete?

Over Jay Inslee? An environmentalist, a solid governor of an entire state that includes not just urban Seattle but also rural rabid right wing portions of eastern Washington?

This guy absolutely should have gotten more respect, and there’s no better proof of that than the way he has responded to the COVID-19 crisis. He, more than any official, has addressed this situation in the sober yet calm manner that this health emergency requires.

Time and time again it is shown that the most important thing in politics is name recognition. If people don’t know you, they won’t vote for you even if your views line up with theirs 100%.

Well, Inslee was one of about three dozen Random White Males That No One Had Heard Of in the race. Lessee, there was Inslee, and Delaney, and Bullock, and Sestak, and Swalwell, and Hickenlooper, and Bennet, and a bunch more that I’m sure I’ve forgotten. That’s a tough group to rise up out of, when there are so many struggling for scraps of recognition. Inslee may have been the best of 'em, for all I know, but he had a very long way to go to break out from that pack.

And this. There were A LOT of candidates who didn’t get the attention and respect they might should have, but when there are A LOT of such candidates, they ALL get lost in the shuffle.

And why blame progressives in particular? Why wasn’t it centrists’ fault for not giving this guy more attention? I bet what little support he had was from people like me who are pretty close to one-issue climate voters.

Besides, we progressives had far and away the best candidate of this cycle, even if she’s dropped out now. Centrists just had Biden and Buttigieg.
