I have plenty for The Right as well but that isn’t what this thread is about.
The Far Left and The Far Right aren’t even opposites on a line. They are part of Horseshoe Theory that states that once you go far enough to either end politically, they are more similar than different. They both attract unstable militants that are convinced that they know the real truth and how the world should be run. The main difference is their native habitats.
The Left gets a lot of airplay these days like that makes them legitimate and totally not insane. I am bored with them and am more curious what the militia groups and religious cults on The Right are up to. The problem with The Left is that colleges keep making more of them and even hiring the ones that don’t grow out of it.
The difference is, the far left is represented by college students and bloggers, and the far right is represented by the president and a fair chunk of elected republican congresspeople.
I don’t think it’s ‘giving them a pass’, it’s acknowledging that makes it a hell of a lot more complicated to try and sort out, and there’s currently little we can do that doesn’t risk making it worse.
Supporting people demanding change is one thing, trying to persuade people to demand change so you can support them isn’t something that can realistically be done by outsiders. Especially when the target audience is isolated from strangers.
Yeah, well the thing is, your ostensible refutation of ‘the Left’ in the post to which I responded was a hot, wet pile of crap. Care to try again, or should I just mark you down as a dim-witted reactionary and move on?
The president isn’t far right, he believes in big government, eminent domain, and many things that aren’t conservative principles. I think he just really loves money, power, and himself.
