Fuck the LAKERS!!!(and a little Kings praise)

I hate to disappoint you, World Eater, but I’m a Lakers fan and have been since I was born.

I think the Knicks have to be the most overrated franchise in basketball. The only reason I pay attention to what’s going on with them is because my roomie and my woman are a die-hard Knicks fans. My roomate even bothered to get Felton Spencer and Travis Knight to autograph his Knicks jersey a few years ago when they came to DC. So I get to hear a lot of griping about the Knicks and enjoy rubbing it in when they fail.

Plus, I enjoy the train wreck that is Isiah Thomas and I think it would be the funniest thing every if the Knicks don’t make the playoffs and lose a lottery pick this year - especially if they wound up with a top 5.

This is why I thought you were a fan!

We feel exactly the way you do.

I want them to lose sooooooo fucking bad that Dolan and those idiots can’t spin it at all. Of course the only way Cablevision will listen is to hit them in the wallet. I’m rejoicing that TIm T and Houston are out, and Penny is a gimp, since it should kill their playoff hopes. To rebuild properly look at Indy. I could run the team better, sigh.

I actually don’t think that Thomas has done all that poorly yet, aside from that last trade.

I think the Marbury trade was a defensible one, since no one in the draft this year is going to be a future start that I can tell (Heck, Okafor’s got back problems…those never come back to haunt a big man, right?) so it’s not a big loss. It’s only going to be amusing to watch the New York media shriek in anguish if they lose a lottery pick.

Frankly, Thomas should have held onto Van Horn and tried to get Wallace for him and Thomas. It wasn’t exactly a secret that Portland was anxious to ditch him. Most teams just didn’t have the funds to pay him his salary and didn’t want to just rent him for half a year.

The real problem is that the Knicks don’t care about championships, just making it to the playoffs. I mean, Marbury’s good and all, but there’s a reason he’s been shipped around as often as he has.

Honestly, I don’t know what you could do with the Knicks for the next three years since they’re so loaded down with excruciatingly bad contracts and they haven’t been drafting too well. And none of that is Isiah’s fault, it was Layden’s fault.

In short, I know I could have done a better job than Layden, not so sure about Thomas. He did a pretty good job in Toronto, though.

Yeah, Zeke made some good moves up until dumping Van Horn, who I think is soft, but would have sufficed for the playoff run.

We’ll have to wait a few years to see how things turn out. Of course trading McDyess instead of signing him to the max gave me some encouragement. Allen Houston is looking finished too.

Right…sure…the only reason they didn’t already was because Horry was a pussy and stayed out of the fray and just happed to get a lucky bounce that put the ball in his hands wide open and he made the shot…a wide open shot…big freakin’ deal…without dumbluck the Lakers would have went down right then and right there…it wasnt lack of guts or determination…it was one lucky bounce and one lucky shot. you can’t condemn an entire team for an entire series because of one bad break…they were right there in the end…had he missed the shot would that mean the Lakers lacked guts and determination?

Please. What about Game 7 when the Kings choked like Bush at a pretzel factory? Peja was very Norwoodesque out there.

Give me a break. Sacramento had the deeper and better team that year on paper, and they couldn’t get it done. And I see no signs that this year will be much better for them.

lol…i liked that pretzel remark. but seriously, I am not trying to paint a picture of the Kings as the greatest clutch team of the ages…but I do feel that the last few years the Lakers have caught some lucky breaks and lucky calls that helped them avoid such chokes…no, I am not a conspiracy theorists that thinks the refs are trying to screw other teams so that the Lakers might win…but I do think that lady luck smiled on LA a few times or else they would have lost a couple of the series they pulled out, and then they wouldnt be percieved as such clutch Gods…thats all I am saying…yes they were talented, yes they played big in big games…but no team in any sport no matter how deep wins 3 in a row without some luck along the way…give the Kings a little of that luck they could have very well won a ring…or two. give them a little credit.

Last Friday we drove up to Sacramento (actually heading to Tahoe) and we stopped to watch one of the high school state championship games being played at Arco Arena, home of the Queens.

What a piece of crap. I was tipping the whole row of seats I was sitting in back and forth because they were not bolted down properly. It was 90 degrees outside and we had to pay EIGHT dollars to park outside that hideous barn that is stuck in the middle of a farm field. I was embarrased to be a Californian.

Anyway, we put a secret hex on the place so look for Memphis to beat the Queens in round 1.

The Queens are the Red Sox/Cubs of the NBA.

I’d also like to add that Horry has ice water running through his veins. He’s been making game winning shots since Houston, and I would put the ball in his hands any day for that game winning shot.

His 0/36 for 3’s last year was strange, he must have been hungover or something.

Just thought I’d resurrect this thread once again to say:

“Ah, what a sweet, sweet victory”.
WOW. That game was beautiful yesterday. Absolutely shutting down Shaq and Kobe. I kind of like hearing Shaq crying like baby after loses. Shaq is a bitch. Blaming the referees for not giving him ALL the calls. What a fucking cry baby.

Atleast Kobe gave the Kings respect for playing tough “D” yesterday. Which was some of the best defense I have ever saw Kings play. They were all over place. Had a bunch of steals (it seemed, I haven’t checked the box score, yet), Lakers didn’t have many uncontested shots. Christie played great yesterday on both ends of the court.

Hell, Peja didn’t even play well yesterday, but it didn’t matter.

If the Kings play with the aggressiveness that they played with yesterday they will win the championship.

It was just a great game. Complete domination. Payback for the Lakers ONLY victory against the Kings this year. Locking up Shaq and Kobe. Webber’s Dunk. Massenburg clobbering Fisher at the end of the game.
It was the perfect confidence boost for the Kings at the right time of the year.

Now the Kings will easily dispatch Denver and the Warriors. And be ready for the Championship run.

SHAQ IS SUCH A BABY!!!

You better register so you can stick around and watch your pussy team get killed.

Why do people get all excited about professional sports. They are just another corporation. How many of the Atlanta teams actually come from Georgia? Might as well get as worked up about Coca Cola vs Pepsi!

Thanks for that terribly relevent contribution. Why did you even open the thread up if all you were going to do is whine? Go away.

Back to the thread.

Sure, Shaggarito, it’s possible the Kings will actually play that way and win the championship but we all know they won’t. I can only hope it will be the Lakers who once again crush their dreams.

Incidentally, I didn’t get to see the game due to my lack of television at the moment (in the middle of moving), but from what I read it seems like Kobe was playing his little games again, cutting off his nose to spite his face and all that. Since when has a double team caused Kobe to not shoot the ball? Especially with Shaq not on the floor.

Anyway, rest assured come playoffs the team will be all business.

What’s the story with Fox, something about his thumb?

Acid kid, Coke is better.

I heard Fox has a dislocated right thumb.
Not like he would have made a difference though.

-Shaggarito

Yes, they’re better off without him.

I think we all knew this was going to be resurrected in order for me to gloat a bit.

Have fun with Dallas and Minnesota. The Lakeshow will be waiting for you at the end if you make it.

You act like it’s going to be easy to get passed Houston and S.A. I think both of these teams match up well with the Lakers. I hope the Lakers can make it to the West Conference Championship. Winning a championship won’t feel the same unless the Kings can beat the Lakers along the way.

I’m not worried about the Kings dropping to the 4 seed. It makes the 1st round series more exciting. Kings/Dallas will be fun to watch. Yao/Shaq will be exciting.

oh yeah, Fucking Kobe.
That shit last night was ridiculous.

-Shaggarito

I don’t know if the Lakers will do it this year, but I am SURE that the Queens will not get it done.

Get used to it Queen fans, as long as you have Floppy Divac and “TIME OUT” Weber, you will not win. I think Dallas will beat the Queens in round 1.

Look for San Antonio and Detroit in the finals with SA winning it all again.

Oh, let me add, from today’s LA Times

“Peja Stojakovic scored 27 points for the Kings, whose late-season collapse reached a low with their eighth loss in 12 games. After beating the Lakers on Sunday, Sacramento needed only one win to clinch its third straight division title but lost to Denver and Golden State.”

Dallas will crush them.
