My siter is a Kings fan. She called me after Duncan’s prayer. I did not answer.
I caled her back after Fisher’s prayer. go LA
Too excited. Sister sister sister
FISH!!!
Oh God, that was great. I couldn’t believe it after Duncan made his prayer shot. I really thought that was going to be the series backbreaker - I mean, does anyone ever make those turn and shoot .4 second shots? Of course not.
But it went down. Nice. It may turn out that the least likely of my predictions is the only one that comes true.
Oh yeah, the whole thing would have been a billion times better without the twenty three time outs between Duncan’s shot and Fisher’s shot. There was something like a half hour of dead time in between.
That was the greatest ending to a basketball game that I have ever seen. I couldn’t believe that Duncan made that shot, and I thought there was no way that the Lakers could score with 0.4 seconds left.
I’m in complete denial. I keep replaying Fish’s shot in slow motion, looking for something to bitch about - but it’s damn near a perfect .4 second shot. Clock started fine, left his hands before zero. Amazing. Derek Fisher.
<waving>
Buh bye Spurs!
Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa!
I find it physically impossible to watch a Laker’s game for any amount of time, so I’m wondering, has Malone been getting any playing time at all?
38 minutes last night. He’s looked a little out of place this series, but he’s being doing all the little things. IIRC he had 8 points last night, but he had 4 steals. He was covering Duncan most of the series so what else could you hope for?
That’s good. I’m glad he’s still out there playing.
God I hope he gets his ring, even if that means the Lakers have another Championship shudder
In slo-mo, you can see that the ref needed a fraction of a second, may be 0.1s, to start the clock which is all the time Fish needed to catch and get ready for the turnaround heave.
It is physically impossible for the ref to start the clock instantaneously as Fish got the ball.
Anyway, the Lakeshow moves on.
I think Reggie deserves a ring as well. May be Malone should have signed with Indy!
Karl was repeatedly thwarted by Jordan but Reggie and the Pacers are the only team to take the Bulls to seven games. And in the seventh game, they lost due to untimely poor defensive rebounding…
Actually, the Bulls went to seven games with Jordan a few times- against the Pistons in the '90 Eastern Finals, the Knicks in '92, and then Indiana. The Knicks also beat them in 7 in '94, but that was without MJ.
For what it’s worth.
The Jazz didn’t go to seven games with them in either series?!
My memory is slipping.
…and while we’re at it, let’s rape some of their citizens too…
Evil, evil shit team!!!
I hate seeing those candy-ass movie stars sitting courtside. Fuck 'em with a syphillitic penis!
I feel the same way watching Yankee games.
Awwww…don’t mock the Spurs. They played hard and they’re a great team. And they never show anyone up or rub anyone’s face in a loss.
Anyhoo, it appears the only prediction of mine that’s been correct so far was the one I made as a joke. Although Minny can still bring me up to .500 in semi-finals predictions.
Any one want my final round predictions?
Batting .000 so far.
Same here, I’m pulling for the big guy.
Maybe he should have joined Indy, and Smooth Sam Perkins came back for one year, he needed a ring too.
So far in the playoffs, Malone is averaging 13.6 points/game and 9.1 rebounds/game in 39.9 minutes/game. He’s clearly making a significant contribution.
Plus, I don’t have to watch Tim Duncan abuse Medvedenko or whatever other player that is either a) too slow or b) too small or c) too stupid to give Duncan any trouble whatsoever.
So yes, Malone has been a godsend. Moreso than Payton, I think.
And yes, yes I did rag on Malone last year. And yes, yes I admit I was foolish and wrong and give myself 50 lashes in penance for my unthinking silliness.
