Well that’s just goofy.
Is Kashmir the one up on the corner close to Huddle House and Joe Bologna’s? Because if it is, it always smells kinda… off.
(Besides, you’ve got the Ho and Pazzo’s closer than that. What more do you need?)
Oh, and who’s hosting the UK DopeKegger?
Jesus is fasting in the desert. Satan appears and says “If you wanted to, you can turn these rocks into bread”.
Jesus: Man cannot live on bread alone etc.
Satan: That may be true, but what about… A CHICK-FIL-A VALUE MEAL!
Jesus: A Chick-Fil-A Value meal! I just can’t resist!
LATER
Jesus: Now that was some good eatin.
Wow, there’s four of them on campus now? I’ve seen two that I remember: one in the Student Center and one in the Commons in the Kirwan-Blanding complex. To answer your question…No! In fact, I have never made a purchase at a Starbucks.
Yes, that’s the one. I’ve never eaten there or noticed any odd smell from outside…I’ll step a little closer next time and find out if I notice an odd smell.d
AC is no stranger to hosting keggers. These days I mostly stick to mini-kegs (in order to avoid the keg tagging required in Lexington) of German beer (such as Warsteiner, Beck’s, and Bitburger) and cans of Bud Light or Natty since that’s what’s popular around here. Also, my housemates and I keep our bar stocked with about 70 liquor bottles. The parties this summer have been small since most people I know except for some football players and other summer school students are away for the summer. I try not to let any parties here get too big during the semesters though. Dopers who bleed Blue are welcome to join…my contact info is available on here. I already graduated from UK back in May but still hanging around for now.
Oh and to stay on topic…$2.93 for a shake doesn’t doesn’t seem to expensive at least not to an extent of BBQ Pit worthiness…unless maybe it’s a small shake. How many fluid ounces are in that Chik-Fil-A shake? I used to buy $5 milkshakes at a homemade ice cream shop in downtown Charleston, WV back when I still lived there.
They put one in at Ovid’s, and the other one is… I’m not sure where.
Tell me when and where I need to be, and I’ll be there.
I cannot see why people are upset that Chik-fil-A is closed on Sundays. Seems like a nice humane policy and it is their business after all.
Now more importantly, how do we get them to open in Saudi Arabia? I love me some dry chicken breast of a plain bun with two pickles.
There’s one in the North Shore Mall in Peabody, if you really must. But hell, you can get a chicken sandwich anywhere.
Boston Market is now owned by McDonald’s, ftr.
Paul, how well do you think the hardcore Christian evangelism stuff would go over in SA?
And who in the world ever thought of putting pickles on chicken? That’s just weird.
So Washington wasn’t a christian?
Judge for yourself. However, the documented record regarding his personal faith certainly doesn’t support the portrayal of him put out by Chik-fil-a. (It’s a tasty sammich which I have eaten and will probably do so again).
Yeah, if you want a REAL shake, don’t go to THAT shitty chain restaurant, go to THIS shitty chain restaurant.
Yeah, Kashmir’s on Limestone, near McDonald’s. It’s not great, but it’s far, far better than India Palace 3, which did stink, was right next to Joe Bologna’s, and which I believe - hope - has gone the way of chivalry. Thank god.
Student Center
Ovids (not technically yet, I suppose)
Commons
annnnd…
Right outside of Student Health.
That may be cool.
In defense of Steak 'n Shake, it is substantially less shitty than most such chains, and would get my dollar way sooner than Jack T. Chick-fil-A ever would.
Chik-Fil-A is by far the better of any fast food restaurants mentioned here, especially that aberration to food that is Steak N Shake, with its overcooked shoe string fries, watery shakes and mushy spaghetti topped with chili --yeach! For late night dining, it can’t hold a candle to Waffle House. I had only seen Chik-Fil-A’s in mall food courts until moving to Atlanta, which sits just North of Hapeville, Georgia where the first Chik-Fil-A’s were made at the original restaurant, the Dwarf House. Truett Cathy, the founder, is indeed a dyed in the wool fundie, and I am upset to learn that a portion of the money I spend buying Chik-Fil-A’s goes to FotF, but I just can’t shake the habit. Whoever complained about the pickle, I brand you a know-nothing philistine – you probably don’t put pickles on your pulled pork sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches either –savage.
Come … join us … don’t be afraid …
Oh, and never mind that dead stare in my eyes. That’s only because I’m jonesin’ for caffeine. Wait, that didn’t help any did it …
That was it. The India Palace 3 was once famously described by my roommate as smelling like “fried cat” as we walked to Rupp one night.
And I knew that Starbucks was in the Student Health building, I’d just forgotten about it because I’m never in there.
I’ve never had a Chik-Fil-A milk shake or chicken sandwich, but I’m willing to entertain that they are definitely NOT to die for.
Have you tried Johnny Rockets?
Do alumni count?
Yeah, it’s ok. Much better shakes, but I think SnS has better burgers… Granted, I haven’t been to a Steak 'n Shake in over 10 years, so maybe they aren’t what they used to be. Or maybe the fact that I was drinking back then had something to do with it (heck, get me liquored up and Taco Bell tastes good)
Re: Johnny Rockets, there is now one smack dab in the middle of the tourist part of Playa del Carmen. Very disorienting. Who, I ask, goes to the Mayan Riviera to dine at Johnny Rockets?
