FUCK YOU CNN! You stupid shit-weaseles.

CNN in this case DID NOT warn prior to the commercial break.

The difference being that those are live events with an undetermined outcome. that makes reporting them news. Spoiling a scripted is a totally different animal.

If it comforts you to believe that, go right ahead.

Stuff it up your own ass and shit yourself out. This whole fucking thread is about your bitchy little beef with CNN revealing the outcome of the Sopranos a whole day after it happened.
Many, many people have told you that it was revealed to the whole fucking world by many media outlets. And since it’s been fucking broadcast on every TV network, and appeared in just about every fucking paper in the U.S., there’s not much point in saying that Omniscient is dumber than a box of fucking hammers in a fucking spoiler box. THE ENDING OF THE SOPRANOS FIRST EPISODE HAS BEEN REVEALED EVERYWHERE YOU ASSTARD. The genie is out of the fucking bottle.

kaylasdad99 specifically asked to know what happened. Anyone with an ounce of sense who doesn’t want to be spoiled should read your first two sentences and say “Ooops, I shouldn’t read this.” So I don’t think my typing out exactly what happened is inappropriate. If you’re too stupid to understand that, you’re shit out of luck.

If anyone else wants to discuss the Sopranos, go talk about it here at the appropriate thread in Cafe Society.

Why, in God’s name did you post the SD rule about spoilers? In case you don’t know CNN, CBS, your local newspaper, and other news outlets do not have to follow the SDMB rules. Too bad you got it spoiled, but the whole world doesn’t need to keep quiet just because you haven’t seen something yet.

Yo, dillhole. You do realise that there is a world outside the U.S., right?
This season will probably start airing down here somewhere in 2007 or 2008, so it might not be a big issue for your Merkins, but for us people from the Old Country it is a different story.

I just can’t believe some people’s incredible selfish attitude when it comes to spoiling shows and/or movies.
It is almost as if some people just really, really like acting like assholes.

There’s a world outside the U.S.? Hell, I didn’t think there was electricity outside of NYC. Learn something new everyday.

Is the solution that the U.S. media should not talk about a U.S. show to what is primarily a U.S. audience? Or perhaps that the people in the U.S. office I’m working in should not talk about a U.S. show because someone from our European or Pacific divisions might be visiting? Or perhaps, anyone who wants to talk about recently-aired programs needs to go join the smokers outside in order to discuss the program? At the end of the Superbowl, should all the news stations go silent, so as not to spoil it for someone who was working and couldn’t watch?

I know. We should just watch the shows, and never discuss them. Who needs community and society anyway?

I wasn’t reacting specifically at the CNN angle, but more to people who feel it is necessary to give away big plot-point in a thread without spoiler-boxing it.
I just think is it is incredibly selfish and a-holish to do so.

Here’s a good one for you. The week prior to the premiere airing, HBO OnDemand had the entire synopsis of the first episode posted on it’s website. An almost word for word description of the whole show.

Wonder if someone got fired for that one?

Depends. If it a thread discussing that episode, I disagree. Heck, on a message board, it is easier to avoid than in casual conversation.

However, if it is a thread discussing another topic, I agree.

Honey, I would guess that was just someone being dumb.

Talking about spoilers, there was an article in the Wall Street Journal a few days back discussing salary negotiations for the next 8 episodes of the Sopranos. Specifically, there is a question as to whether or not it was a new season, and thus would necessitate certain actors renegotiating for the new season. Then they listed actors who had secured contracts, and actors who were negotiating. Hmmm, if an actor secured a contract or is negotiating, it is a pretty good bet they survived this season. I’m pretty sure Steve Buscemi wasn’t negotiating to appear this season. Plus, the alert Sopranos fan would notice who was absent in the article. That’s true spoilerage.

Go indulge your self-pity with fancy chocolate sprinkles and a good rijstaffel, because you’ll get no sympathy from me. You live in Europe, and thus will always get Hollywood-generated entertainment months later. Such is life.
