I didn’t find it misogynistic. I found it telling that he chose that as a comparison, because I think it was part of a deliberate pattern to attempt to highlight differences between him/his treatment and other identifiable segments of the population. My problem isn’t his assumption that only women knit on planes (probably false though it is), it was his deliberate use of a stereotypical “female” activity. Had he described it as people knitting, on the other hand, though the analogy would still have been far from perfect, it would not have carried the typical VCO3 “look at me, I’m different to these people, aren’t they strange and odd” smell as far as I am concerned.
Giraffe, I’d be happy to pay you a royalty for the use of this line. I’d probably use it most often to describe someone of VCO’s social aptitude. I laugh myself silly almost every time I read it, imagining VCO dropping his chockamut ice cream on a laptop, turning it into a brick, and then blaming the laptop for sucking … or perhaps blaming the ice cream for not staying on the cone … or, more likely, something even more deranged and maladjusted that we can actually fathom of here.

I’m also surprised that a few seem to think you came back from your suspension as an improved , if only for a little while, poster. At this point, I don’t care if he’s a troll. The response he elicits from the board, my self included, is just too damn funny. He’s the closest thing to Wildest Bill we have right now.
