This asshat had a guy jailed for almost 5 hours because he did not say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud. story here
I have no idea why Mr. Lampley didn’t want to say the pledge, but AFAIK it’s his right to keep his fucking mouth shut if he feels like it.
If I saw the judge on the street, I’d say: “Fuck you, Judge Littlejohn.”
Pledges, oaths and other deeply held trusts are not small things to be trifled with, not meaningless words to be said as if they were a trifle. It isn’t just some crap you recite from rote memory because it’s customary, you idiot.
And a pledge or oath or other word of honor given under threat or duress is hardly the kind of thing I want my country forcing people to do, and I hope this judge gets plenty of email and such letting him know what a dick he is.
File a complaint, hell! The judge should be removed, disbarred, tarred, feathered, and exiled from the country for life. Fuck him and the horse that fucked his mother!
Technically, he wasn’t jailed for not saying the pledge. He was jailed because he was in contempt of court for failing to obey the judge’s order to say the pledge.
I’m from New York and found Dio’s comment to be assholish as well. But it’s Dio. No surprise there.
Yeah, so the outcome of this will depend on whether it’s lawful for a judge to order someone to say the Pledge of Allegiance. (My ignorant non-lawyer opinion: it isn’t.)
Please, when the south stops electing moronic teabaggers to every elected office, I’ll stop taking shit about it. Until then, I’ll say whatever the fuck I want about my own region of origin.
Please. I made a comment about the politics of a geographical region which is undeniably true. It’s also a region I am from and know a lot about. Spare me your butthurt indignation. That’;s the last I’m going to feed into Oakminster’s hijack.
I remember when Judge Liljon was only concerned with what was crunk, and issued the landmark case “What! v. Okaaay!” Then he changed his name and got all lame.
