When you say, “This fucking stupid,” I can only assume both your index fingers are pointed at your skull. You said there was “Not a fucking peep” in the NYT. I showed you that you were factually inaccurate, taking about two minutes to do so.
If you claim had been that coverage was insufficient, that’d be something to debate. But that’s not what you said, so I was responding to what you said.
The whole totalitarian spin business is kind of insane, so I did, and will continue to, ignore it.
Here I thought only **Clothahump ** made pointless attacks on media. I guess I learned something new today.
The Story of Muslims rioting and burning over the cartoon stupidity has been all over the place for over a week. Nigeria joined in the fun, Oh boy. Not big news.
The first report of a backlash is of course “new” and therefore News.
Incidentally, in another story, the NYTimes has not a fucking peep about the Cheney shooting story. What is it with this totalitarian media?
Kid Charlemagne, I wonder what you see as the difference between the two in today’s NYT.
I’d agree that the Nigerian riots are a more important story. I disagree that your analysis of media coverage of them is based on anything like legitimate evidence, or that your conclusions are in the realm of sanity.
I’ve been hearing about Muslims rioting and killing each other over cartoons in the mainstream media for a week now. What the fuck is the OP on about? It’s been front page news.
I mean, the hell with search engines. It’s been headline stuff on CNN. Big articles in all the local dailies. You’d have to be retarded to have missed it.
No where did I say otherwise. I was pointing out the odd statement the poster made, as he was claiming it was all through the news, and yet managed to miss the part (the same part) that the OP was bitching about.
I really do not know what your problem is, but I have a feeling it would be something I cannot pronounce. I am probably one of the dumbest people (intelligence wise) speaking on this board.
Yet if this was a war of common sense, you sir, would be my bitch.
You’re apparently even more obtuse than I suspected. The whole point is that the coverage is buried deep within stories whose headlines indicate that no such information is forthcoming. This is an important story and to say that either of those two articles covered it is ridiculous. If you take all figures of speech as literally as you have “not a peep” then I’d love to see how you interpret “go fuck yourself.”
What has to happen to a person to actually believe there’s a “totalitarian” anti-Christian control of the media in a country where the vast majority of citizens and gov’t officials are Christian? What color pill do you have to swallow?
Any response to the numerous posters who have pointed out that the story is now several days old and thus wouldn’t be expected to appear on the front page?
As was alreay pointed out by LHoD, Neurotik, What Exit?, RickJay, Giraffe, DtC, and everybodyelseinthewholeworld said, there was no attempt to hide any Muslim riotng by the MSM. Most of us (those who bother to keep up) already were well aware of it.
KC, the coverage of the anti-Christian rioting in Nigeria was featured in “MSM” during the weekend, when it was recent.** I’ve been aware of it for 4 days ** and I am not a follower of the alternative press (or for that matter of the Murdoch press, which itself is about as “mainstream” as there is). However, it being one more event in the generalized agitator-driven Muslim-world freakout, I can see how it probably got lost in the clutter for many readers.
Yet complaining that on today’s paper it’s not being given equal prominence with events happening today elicits the “yes, so?” reaction. Unless you can demonstrate that indeed there truly was “not a peep” about the anti-Christian rioting in the NYT, LAT, WP, AP or CNN for the prior 4 days, you may be witnessing “sampling bias” of the man-bites-dog nature, wherein the counter-backlash is what makes the news.
The Nigeria story, as others have pointed out, is from Saturday, and is a relatively small example of the violence that has swept various parts of the world over the past week or so.
My hard-copy edition of the Sunday New York Times had an article talking about the Nigerian violence, and that article is still available on the web.
You know what the headline is, douchebag?
Italian Quits Over Cartoons; 15 Die in Nigeria
That’s pretty deeply buried coverage, there.
And here’s some of what the article had to say:
I guess this is just another example of the mainstream media burying the story of Muslim-on-Christian violence.
