Having read a sampling of black455’s posts, I would say that this is not the poster formerly known as JohnJohn.
In fact, some of his/her posts are informative and funny.

My name is John. Has been for about 17 years now. I’ve signed nearly every post I’ve made here the same way I did the one above. It wasn’t a subtle jab… I seriously couldn’t remember which of our playmates the “WHAAAA” reminded me of.
Whether or not this specimen is the Cyberian (I agree that he’s probably not, it was just a familiar detail), he is immature and pathetic. I’m afraid I won’t be welcoming him.

re: my gripe… i’ve been lurking for quite some time, and have noticed a few members who seem to exist only to tell others that they’re breaking the rules. I tend to follow the maxim that if my alcohol-addled ass can figure it out, so can the moderators. It’s their job to crush the throat of the rulebreakers under the steel-toed jackboot of Board Law, not anybody else’s. Let them do their job, sez I.
Having read some of your posts, I was aware that you signed them. I am of the opinion that you are certainly capable of a subtle jab of this sort. Since it was unintentional it should seem ironic, but doesn’t for some reason. Hmmm.
I agree that black455 is coming off as a confrontational newbie here. As I was in the same situation myself not so long ago perhaps I am more tolerant of this. Or perhaps I am just naive. S/he seemed to be doing fine with those posts I read in other threads.

Hey, we hate to hog ALL the fun. I agree, some posters do jump on others. But in most cases, this is actually a GOOD thing, if it’s not taken to extremes. We can’t monitor the boards 24/7, and sometimes posts are borderline.

Actually, the final testing phase of the Moderator Mark III has begun, and in a short time we’ll be able to phase out the current Admins/Mods and install the new system (name pending), which will eliminate annoying glitches like the aforementioned “life”, in addition to “emotions”, eating, drinking, sleeping, etc.

I do appreciate the fact that members will occasionally post a link to a relevant thread. It’s the gratuitous snottiness with which some members do it that gets my goat… pehaps I should have made that clear in my OP. But why hedge in an otherwise perfectly good flame?
