“Look at these kids — child abuse, child abuse, suffocation, suffocation,” the man says while filming the playground with his smartphone, after claiming that he runs “a very popular YouTube channel.”
So popular that the chickenshit made his video private.
Nah, It’s “Live, Freeze and Die”
A Man Is Filming Children Wearing Masks and Accusing Parents of ‘Child Abuse’ | ARLnow.com

Right. He was filming children at a park to document “child abuse”. Wanna bet his computer has some…images?
Great minds and all that. Its hard to find any other reason to be hanging around at a park to take pictures of other people’s children playing without their consent.
CDC policy isn’t science-based. It’s policy-based.
Yes, it is a policy organization, but it does rely on science for it’s understanding. But you are correct that policy is it’s function. But also consider that policy necessarily lags on science. Research is conducted, some study is published, more data is collected and that study is evaluated by the medical community at large. Then conclusions can be drawn to structure policy.
Make no mistake, if a survey showed people would get vaccinated if they heard dinosaurs were attacking Des Moines, then the next day, Fauci would be on TV saying “There’s a strong chance dinosaurs are eating Iowans at this very moment.”
Don’t lay all that on Dr. Fauci. Yes, he was a little slow on the mask thing, but that was primarily because he was considering just the N95 masks, and when it became clear that any mask provides some protection, he reversed position.
Also, culturally we haven’t had the same problems with previous coronavirus infections that hit Asia, so we haven’t adopted the mask wearing as a general practice during infections. It remains to be seen if Covid19 will change that, but I don’t think we will go the route that, say, South Korea has with respect to masks as a general trend. The Freedumb folks are fighting tooth and nail any efforts to make voluntary masking culturally acceptable.
CDC always recommended surgical masks for people who had symptoms as source control.
Yes, they were backing masks for specific control, not general widespread use. Then it became clear that asymptomatic spread was significant and cloth masks were acceptable. Change policy to fit the science.
After a pause he tells the room “I’m an 88 year old man in a 62 year old body, and I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough of all that Trump nonsense and GOP politics and politics in general.”
The whole thing was weird, and my wife thought he might even have dementia, but in the end he was still a guy without a mask yelling at a roomful of people about masks.
Wait, he’s bellowing against mask wearing and social distancing but is anti-Trump? Dementia sounds right.

Yes, that was a heck of a plot twist.

Plus, “The evidence points to–” is all you’re going to get out of a scientist. I once saw an interview with the head of NASA. Asked if anyone had sex aboard the ISS she replied, “Not to my knowledge.” I thought, Spoken like a true scientist; she answered keeping in mind the limits of her information.
A 38-year-old man was arrested after he hit a CTA bus with gunfire in the West Pullman neighborhood late Tuesday after a bus driver told him he couldn’t get on if he wasn’t wearing a mask, police said.
Words fail me.
I’ll give it a go.
Fucking selfish Trump loving, gun-toting, Freedumb self-entitled shitstain. These turd-eating pus pockets like that worthless brain-damaged psycho in California that thought a bad lane change deserved a bullet and killed a four year old boy should get the death penalty, execution by firing squad.
And somehow gun-lovers use this as justification for more people to carry guns. As if the mother of that boy would have been able to protect her son by shooting back.
Note to you worthless selfish piss-puddles, someone telling you to wear a mask is NOT a self-defence situation. Someone cutting you off in traffic is not a shooting situation.
I’d go on, but we don’t need another gun debate in this thread. Let’s leave it with these two garbage heads and their selfish and irresponsible behavior.
And somehow gun-lovers use this as justification for more people to carry guns. As if the mother of that boy would have been able to protect her son by shooting back.
Quite right: there is no logical or reasonable way the gun lobby could spin this horrific event as an excuse to sell more guns. The mother would have had no way to keep her son safe from the bullets fired by the sub-human, even if she’d had a hundred guns filling up her car.
But of course that won’t stop the gun lobby from making their ugly and inane sales pitches.
even if she’d had a hundred guns filling up her car.
Perhaps if the hundreds of guns were stacked all around the child, like a sort of shield…

I believe you’ve just created the NRA’s next big messaging theme!
One of the wounded victims was an off-duty sheriff.
And on it goes…
I’ve read and seen a fair number of murder mysteries, but I can’t recall any where the motive for the murder was as stupid as “argued over wearing a mask.”
Has there ever be a murder over “No Shirt. No Shoes. No Service” ?
I’m not sure about that, but I have heard of shootings over express lane disagreements, such as this one:
Tationna Thompson was charged with shooting at a woman after an argument in the checkout line at a Schnucks store in St. Louis.
So this issue about a mask-related shooting is probably more of a problem based on American gun culture rather than anything to do with masking. Pretty much any trivial disagreement can lead to a shooting

In Elmore Leonard’s Split Images, a homicide cop runs through his mental list of all the trivial reasons people in his investigations have killed each other. (I can’t find it quoted online.) If he wrote it today I’m sure mask wearing would be on the list.

Here for your reading pleasure are 76 (and counting) episodes of my favorite legal blogger. All in the “Good Reasons to Kill” category. Which category is really about monumentally stupid and trivial reasons various real actual Americans (and the occasional foreigner) have committed real actual murder. No fiction involved.
You’ll be amazed, amused, and appalled simultaneously.

An observation about @Biotop’s cited event.
The off-duty deputy, presumably the better-trained firearm operator of the two, came off worse in the exchange. And although his gun was effective at stopping the bad guy, it was ineffective at stopping the bad guy’s bullets coming the other way. Or at least the first couple.
Something for all the 2A-enthusiast armed “law-abiding citizens” to consider as they contemplate what they’d have done in that situation. Deciding to engage is deciding to be a target for sure, not just for maybe.
