Two days after Sarah Palin tested positive for the coronavirus,
I thought that would show up in the preview. You’re right, that’s the lede.
When I first read this headline, my eyes missed the middle letter in the 6th word, and my heart smiled a bit.
Then I reread it. Oh well………
Typical, from the increasingly hilariously misnamed “party of personal responsibility.” If you actually have COVID, it’s your personal responsibility not to spread it. She should be isolating, only going out if it’s truly necessary and, of course, masked when you do go out.
When our son tested positive, he was stuck in a guest room. We didn’t go out for a few days, to make sure we didn’t develop symptoms (we’re all vaxxed and boosted), and was masked when we did go out.
She’s a total piece of shit.
“OMG, why isn’t this all over the news? Oh…”
Might’ve been posted elsewhere…
I’ll die of covid! That’ll show Inslee!
Bye, dead idiot. I hope that when you were infectious you didn’t spread it to anyone else, dickhead.
And here I was naively thinking we’d be above this crap…
Trudeau et famille have been relocated to an undislosed location until this day-pass gathering is done.
I see that Conservative party leader Erin O’Toole is throwing his lot in with this motley crew of covid deniers, white supremacists, Western Canada separatists, Proud boys, and anti-government types that want to "arrest the government’, just like their heros on Jan 6 in the USA.
Good luck with that Mr. O’Toole. Interesting gamble, but for your sake, I hope the shit does not hit the fan, or that you are not photographed buddying up to the more noxious folks in this shit-show.
You might gain the lunatic far-right that had moved over to Berniers “people’s party”. Enjoy that 5%, while you lose 25% of the center vote.
I see their big thing now is to demand that the Canadian federal government remove all covid mandates. Most of which have been put in place by the provinces that have jurisdiction over public health.
What a bunch of fucking morons.
And even the thing that started this off; Mandatory vaccination for cross-border truckers is now a moot point because the US has put in similar rules. So they apparently are now demanding that the Canadian government change the US rules.
What a bunch of fucking morons. But I repeat myself.
O’Toole is going for the fucking moron vote. As I said above - good luck with that.
Re: Anti-vax trucker convoy in Ottawa:
Canadian anti-hate organization Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) is watching this. CAHN executive director Evan Balgord does interview with Salon.
One tangential topic I noticed: Apparently Ottawa isn’t very visitor-friendly:
High of 13°, low of -5° tomorrow. Significant winds will make wind chill even worse. I certainly encourage them to stand outside for hours and protest!
As for pooping, no doubt they can find a Tim Hortons somewhere.
It bears repeating…What a bunch of fucking morons! And “freedom convoy” makes me want to gag, although I feel a little better when I think of it as the “freeDUMB convoy”…
The sad part is, many of these folks are simply useful idiots who have been conned into unwittingly supporting these scummy alt-right nutbags. Social media and the dumbing down of the population is going to be the death-knell of civilization I fear.
Weird! I happened to cross paths with this video last night. It’s 16 minutes long, but quite thorough, IMO. The host shows that actual participation in the convoy is far less than has been reported, that most truckers are vaccinated anyway, and just who is pushing this from the corporate side. Worth a click if you have 16 minutes to kill on a Sunday morning.
(ETA: confederate flags in Canada. How common a sight is that??)
Another bad thing about this is that Erin O’Toole and a number of the Tories are willing participants; that is really unhelpful.
I fear that this may not be an exaggeration. At some point somewhere this sort of civil disobedience could get out of hand and result in an inappropriate or excessive response from the authorities and off we go.
Definitely worth a watch @bobot
Who does it say is pushing it from the corporate side?
You know, I could have phrased that better. There is actual opposition from the Trucking industry. The pushers are not best described with the word “corporate”.
The Canadian Trucking Alliance is a federation of provincial trucking associations, representing over 4500 truckers.
They do not support this protest.
Indeed, they say: (bolding mine)
While a number of Canadians are in Ottawa to voice their displeasure over this mandate, it also appears that a great number of these protestors have no connection to the trucking industry and have a separate agenda beyond a disagreement over cross border vaccine requirements. As these protests unfold over the weekend, we ask the Canadian public to be aware that many of the people you see and hear in media reports do not have a connection to the trucking industry.
This protest has been taken over by various alt-right groups. It is no longer about mandates for truckers. It’s about white supremacy, western separation, anti-government, libertopia, freemen of the land, and other assorted whacka doodles.
