With all the bombing in and around Baghdad I’m wondering what the bakeries, restaurants etc use for cooking fuel.
I’m pretty sure its not wood. Thats a joke folks.
From what I’ve seen breadmaking ovens seem to be the outdoor flame fired clay type
I was thinking natural gas but I haven’t heard about gas explosions with all the bombing.
Seems like with all the oil wells natural gas ought to be present.
I would also guess that any LP tanks would have been turned into weapons.
Kerosene when used in crude heating devices would stink as would heating oil-diesel.That leaves gasoline which is pretty explosive and again I haven’t heard about secondary gasoline explosions.
I haven’t even seen many camels so camel dung is probably at a premium.Another joke.
Coal?
Iraq has lots of natural gas. Just because the news hasn’t reported gas wells on fire means nothing.

Iraq also was able to re-build much, but not most, of its electric power generation facilities after 1991.
Of course, that site still lists Saddam as the Head of State…
Most likely, no. Iraq has essentially no coal reserves, and does not import anything really more than some metallurgical and special-use coals.
