Just two posts ago you said that a couple of pounds could be turned into powdered fucking death and wipe out a small city or something like that… You showed that 57.000 people got cancer a couple of pages ago due to the horror of Fukushima. I have praise for FXMastermind from this thread http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=602177&highlight=fukushima&page=7 where he continued to beat down the nuclear apologists into a figuratively radioactive pulp, even though he was wrong on the special language the apologists used for their priesthood, turns out that he was essentially 100 percent correct that this was a first order nuclear disaster and they were 100 percent wrong, despite being experts. I’ll take a small bow myself as occasionally supporting FXMastermind in that thread.

I applaud you. The issue of nuclear power in general is far removed from the clusterfuck that is the Fukushima disaster.

It has been shown with stats that nuclear power is safer per megawatt than any other form of energy even if you include Chernobyl. Nuclear power is dangerous, yes, but it’s less dangerous than anything else, regardless of what your wrist has to say about it.

By not actually giving the amounts, they make it sound “not all that bad.”
