Fun Spider Bite Aftermath [Disturbing/Gross Video]

My, my, my, the things that pass for entertainment these days.

These people should no longer be together. Either she should leave him for being a dumbfuck or he should leave her for allowing this to go on and then videotaping it.

I don’t believe it’s real.

That was horrifying!! It was worse after the tweezer came out.

::shudder::

That reminds my of my Facial Abscess, as related starting at post 44 of this thread. However, I went to a doctor rather than performing home surgery. Probably because my swollen face lump was about twice the size of what the guy in the video had and too painful to touch.

I don’t think it is possible for these eight words to refer to anything that is not horrifying.

Yeah. And I had been thinking of making spaghetti for dinner.

WHAT IN THE NAME OF OG IS COMING OUT OF HIS FACE  ???

Your sig line is just so perfect for this thread.

Pus.

Lots and lots of pus.

Lots and lots of virulent pus. Some blood. And maybe a little necrotic tissue.

Seriously, y’all should read Broomstick’s story. It’s horrifying, fascinating, and well written. It’s one of the few threads that have stuck in my memory for years.

Broomstick’s story was the first thing that came to mind. I’m glad to know, now, that hers was WORSE than this guy’s.

You’re one tough cookie.

I tried to watch the video last night but just at the ‘start’ then was an 'Oh my God!" and an advert for Wal*Mart poped up and froze the window.

I decided it was a sign to not watch this.

Wow. I just read Broomstick’s account of her abcess. I’m freekin’ horrified. I had no idea such a thing could happen! Are there “types” of people who get this? I have never had much of an issue with zits or infections or anything like that. I cannot imagine undergoing that surgery without being knocked out. In fact, I would want to be unconscious for the entire healing process! Holy shit…

Because of eczema and sensitive skin I am more prone to skin infections than usual because my skin is frequently broken. People with weakened immune systems, diabetes, and a few other things are more likely to have severe infections. However, that sort of infection can be caught by anyone.

Rules of thumb - if it gets bad quickly, if you’re running a fever or throwing up from pain, get to a doctor.

Spider bites (and some other bug bites/stings) can get bad like this because the venom can screw up circulation and/or blood cells that normally take care of infection, making extreme infection more likely.

I had an abcess in the top of my foot when I was in Thailand. Dunno what caused it. Swelled up very fast and was extremely painful - much as I would imagine having a nail pounded into my foot would feel. Created a lump about the size of a walnut, very discoloured (reddish and greenish in places).

Being young and stupid, I wanted to cut it open and scoop out the puss, but my GF wouldn’t let me operate on myself like that - made me go to an actual doctor (who did exactly what I would have done). Healed very fast after that.

And dead botfly larvae, I think. At one point she says, “Your worm is bigger than mine was.” or some such.

Blergh. Where’s our puking smiley again?

(P.S. I spent ages reading that old Pimple thread. What a marvelous thread, truly, what the internet is for. Where’s the sequel, I need more! ;))

A friend of mine had 35 bites from brown recluse spiders. (He was volunteering during the flooding in the midwest this year) Even after heavy courses of treatment they still look horrible. There is no way I’m watching video of any such things untreated.

It didn’t load. Thank Og.

I stopped about half way through. Please tell me “the tweezer came out” is not to be interpreted literally.

Don’t be such a baby. Keep working on it.

Still didn’t work.

Even the name of the website, tubearoo.com, is vaguely quease-inducing now.
