Funny spam my wife got

Someone responded to an ad we placed in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Here is the response, unedited except for the email address:

Here’s the funny part: it’s in response to an ad we have for one of our rental houses. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1600 square feet and 2-car garage are mentioned rather prominently in the ad.

I considered responding to the spammer (who is likely practicing some variant on the Nigerian 419 scam) to see how far I could take it, but as my wife sagely pointed out, we’re not exactly anonymous and they’d have personally identifiable info on us.

At any rate, it gave us a good chuckle. I wonder what it costs to ship a 1600 square foot home from Fort Worth, USA to Somewhere Else, UK?

Heee!

Actually, as a fun exercise, I also wonder what the costs would run. I know house moving isn’t cheap, and they do use barges when needed over bodies of water. So I’d presume the way to go would be to move the house to the closest suitable waterway and place it directly on the ship that’d take it across the Atlantic.

Wonder if any of the house moving businesses in your area would be willing to do an estimate for the hell of it, so they could have a laugh as well?

Probably more than it would cost to just build a new one.
