Fur or Hair?

Dear Cecil-
I have two dogs, a Labrador named Mrs. Daisy and a Standard Poodle named Mr. Zidane. Every spring and fall, the Mrs. sheds all over the place. but Mr. ZZ, does not. He does requires grooming about every two months, or he is subject to skin problems, overheating, etc. How did this come to be, that the Mrs. has “fur” and the gent “hair?”;j

This is a new trick: addressing it direct to Cecil. Nothing like kissing up is there.

A note to the newbie: While the forum description does point out that Cecil will occasionally read General Questions, it’s far from a common occurance. You’re very likely, however, to get a good answer from some member of the Teeming Millions, so one usually wouldn’t directly address Cecil in the post.

That said, I don’t know either.

Well, I see I’ve been rounded up by the short hairs, dogged about protocol, and all fur naught. Perhaps some shedding is in order, and the best answer is left to the dogs.

My human companions appear too distracted.

General Questions is for questions that have factual answers. I don’t see a question here, so I’m going to close this thread.

Please read the forum descriptions.
