Gack is getting chased pretty hard on GD by posters and mods, and his arguments refuted increasingly, with a ‘what else you got’ attitude, after which Gack responds with more of the same. At what point do folks just stop engaging him, and each other? He won’t admit he is wrong, even when the mod tells him. Again, and again. Rinse, repeat. Is this how it is supposed to be? I’m not being ironic, or sarcastic, but I am a newbie to this place.
More or less.
If he violates sufficient rules or mod instructions, he’ll get the boot and that’ll be that. But Gack has been mostly careful to avoid crossing the line. It’s not against Board rules to be willfully stupid, ignore evidence, or be a jackass.
Otherwise, the thread continues until people stop posting in it. On occasion, such threads have gone on for longer. Eventually, the guys like Gack get tired and stop posting for a while, if they don’t manage to get banned. Sometimes they come back and revive the threads for a while.
And it’s always the same few conspiracy theory threads that seem to go on for so long. Stuff like the JFK assassination, 9/11, the moon landing. And, unfortunately, some racism threads, too, much as this is pretty much is.
**Gack **is beyond saving. It’s for the benefit of those who may read the thread in the future who are undecided.
I, for one, am happy to let the thread die now that **Gack **has resorted to the most beautiful argument I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing on these here boards : “If you change some of the words that person said to other words, his recorded statement means something else entirely. I agree with **Kobal2 **and Gack is just repeating his “original” points about his denials and the Oprah tv show now. I sent a note to the moderators to let them know that we should stop allowing him to use that forum for his moronic antisemitic conspiracy points and holocaust denial.
Well, it’s finally over. The mod has declared that Gack, and his chicken, no longer serve a purpose.
I honestly wonder how much the mods on that thread contributed to the pitiful mess that thread constituted. Isn’t it better to,simply observe, let the posters play it out, and then move in when necessary? At some point problem and solution become muddled and you have to be concerned about conflict of interest in a situation like that.
