Gadarene's Online Scavenger Hunt -- main thread

Hmm. This is only a 5 point question, so I’ll say this: the source is (of course) correct, but the cite isn’t a proper pinpoint citation. And because I think Google gives you enough information about what a pinpoint citation is to be able to fashion one together even if you’re a non-lawyer, I’m gonna rule this question incompletely answered. You get a shot at putting the proper citation together and posting it, and if your attempt falls a little short I’ll throw it open to everyone. If that seems fair.

Said brother is buried at Graceland now.

adhemar:

Fair enough. I’ll still give 5 points to someone who comes up with a clerihew the first line of which consists entirely of a celebrity’s full name, though.

I’m gonna say no on this, although it’s a nice try. I was going to give it to you, but then I realized that if one of my interns turned in a draft of an opinion containing that pinpoint cite, I’d make 'em do it again. This question’s thrown open to everyone again – including you, adhemar.

Awesome. 15 points, for 55 total. That Repoz is more abstruse than Dennis Miller. In fact, since he’s such a wealth of wonderment, I’ll give an additional 10 points to the first person – again including you, adhemar – who can annotate ten of Repoz’s introductions on this site. The one caveat being that you can’t use an introduction in which there’s nothing to annotate – no obscure reference, no awful pun, and so forth.

Hal Briston:

Yeah, that’s the right answer for the right reason. Nicely done, no matter how stupid you thought it was. 35 points total.

Sofis:

That’s an exceedingly silly answer. Also wrong.

MisterThyristor:

Excellent job! 10 points for that.

Absolutely. 10 more points, 20 total.

Nice job, adhemar. I’ll score those answers tonight.

adhemar:

10 points for the wonderful job on the Repoz stuff, for 65 points, and then 5 more for the amusing clerihew, which makes 70.

I’ll say that your pinpoint cite isn’t correct according to the Bluebook. As one hint, the case isn’t found solely on the Internet.

Anyone else gonna jump in?

maybe some hints?

For which ones?

(I can’t believe The Dope is letting me down…I was sure y’all would be all over the answers. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Just coming back. At one point yes, you have to turn into a dog. The whole game goes black and white and you have to get the Bottle That Isn’t Poison.

In a complete hijack, I named my dog after Haplo in the books (and the game, but I read the books first) when I was in high school. Still have the dog.
