Is Tommen at the duel? I could see Margery standing up right after the fight and begging mercy from the King–citing since both champions paid a heavy price then surely the Gods must think Tyrion is at least partially blameless… In public, with a hot girl who probably gave him his first royal boner, he might be hard pressed to deny her and not lose her affectionl. Tywin would be hesitant to so blatantly “grandad” the king in the open. Cersie would lose her shit and it would probably be all out courtly war between her and Margery.
Ok, I can see that happening. That may well have been set up when Olenna flat out told Margaery that Tyrion didn’t do it, and the uncomfortable looks that she had during the trial. Could easily go nowhere but could also easily go here. And it would be a deft move to use that to reignite conflict between Cersei and Margaery, which seems to have calmed down a bit.
Why would Margery ask for mercy for Tyrion?
Because she knows he’s innocent… and maybe to fuck with Cersei a bit.
I don’t know if there is anything in it for her, although she may see an angle we don’t. Upsetting Cersei is one, and gaining a Lannister friend might be another. But Margaery knows for a fact that Tyrion is innocent. While she is a very cagey woman, she may be more scrupulous than her grandmother and just not like the idea of an innocent person being put to death on her watch.

Granny Tyrell told Margaery flat out that Tyrion was innocent. Not quite the same as Marg herself knowing first-hand, but I’m sure that’s what’s being referred to.
I think the question there is “since when does anyone on this show care about guilt or innocence?” Which is a fair question- lots of characters don’t care about that distinction for all sorts of reasons. But I think it’s possible that Margaery will.

No, there are seven specific kingdoms. Remember King Robert (I think it was him) talking about “making the eight”, meaning sleeping with one woman from each of the seven kingdoms, plus the Riverlands.
This implies there’s a specific seven distinct regions that are the “Seven Kingdoms”, and the Riverlands is not one of them.

Not only that, it’s obvious Jamie wants Tyrion to live, and while I don’t think we’ve seen Tommen and Jamie together much, you know Jamie would be the cool ‘uncle’.
Not really. Tyrion is still alive, and currently the only remaining character anyone with a heart actually loves anymore.
So, he’s bound to die next episode.
