The last episode of the season tends to be a bit of a slower aftermath sort of episode, but with so many plates spinning I think this one is going to have to be a big plot mover. The episode is extended to 66 minutes, and the showrunners say that they think this is the best work they’ve ever done.
Prediction: Most of the episode will be an effects driven set piece focusing on Orson Lannister in a flashback. Orson spends 55 minutes of the episode following a strange beetle across Casterly Rock. Ultimately, he discovers a terrible truth: the beetles are planning an invasion of Westoros, and he’s the only one who can stop them.
Witnessing the horrific true form of the Beetle Queen, Orson’s mind is shattered. All he he could do was remember his mission: “Smasth de beetlesth! Smasth de beetlesth!”
Orson is the last best hope for Westoros, before he is kicked by a mule and killed. The beetles are coming.
It occurs to me that this is the season finale tonight. I know what sorts opf things are likely to occur, because I have read the books.
It strikes me as really interesting that today is Father’s Day.
Probably just a coincidence.
You *may *technically be correct, but it was still a shitty thing to post. The only reason for it was to say “I read the books, and I know something that you don’t know…” You’ve been around long enough to know that’s against the rules in this thread.
Very cool episode. Loved the Brienne-Hound fight, as good a duel as the Beric-Hound or Oberyn-Mountain fights. Loved the Tyrion scenes, and his reunions. Loved to see Stannis rescuing the Night’s Watch.
What was everyone’s favorite parts? Who’s going to rule now with Tywin gone? Can Cersei keep the kingdom together? Where is Tyrion headed? What’s Arya going to do in Braavos? Is the Hound really going to die? What’s going to happen at the Wall now that Stannis is there?
What part of “the books do not exist” do you need explained to you? is it really that complicated? cause honestly to me it seems like an extremely simple and easy to follow rule.
Too bad about The Hound and Brienne. In another time and place, they might have been great friends (or even romantic partners). And oddly, they were both after the same thing; Arya’s safety.
I always thought people were a little too uppity about the no book talk rules, but you crossed the line. Dropping little hints about what’s going to happen is just a dirtbag thing to do.
