The way they introduced Jojen and Meera was very odd. Suddenly as they’re fleeing they’re joined by two elfin looking people who, the boy happening to be psychic, doesn’t need introduction or backstory, so let’s just sing a happy tune and go on our way.
Yeah, i have several friends and family members who have changed their tune from “NO SPOILERS SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP” to “please tell me what the fuck is going on”.
Hm. We don’t have HBO and have to wait a year to get the DVDs. I’m sorry to see that season 3 seems to be going off the rails.
And Theon–he becomes possibly the most interesting character in the books, he just takes a long time getting there.
I’m pretty sure that’s not Polliver. I don’t think he has anything to do with the torturers.
I don’t think season 3 has gone off the rails. It’s just starting a bit slower. We didn’t have a baby murder scene or have a kid defenestrated in the first episode. From what I’ve heard from the critics that got advanced reviews, episodes 3 and 4 pick up considerable.
Sattua, I totally agree with Theon being the best character. The Reek chapters blew me away. Too bad the rest of that book didn’t match.
If you read the books than I won’t be spoiling you when I say the words I quoted came out of Arya’s mouth.
Well you can’t fault Maisie’s commitment to her craft - IRL she is right-handed but according to the commentaries she decided she was going to play her character left-handed as in the books. Water-dancing and all. I don’t think they’ve even drawn attention to it in the TV series, it’s just another brilliant detail.
Cersei Lannister in the show is nothing like I pictured. I was initially slightly disappointed, as I expected a younger actress in the role. But she is an improvement in every single way over the book Cersei, including being older ( as with all the characters ). She has a world-weariness and gravitas the book Cersei never remotely had, not mention far more depth of character. Book Cersei was a caricature of a character and really rather uninteresting as a despicable, vicious, nymphomaniac idiot ( granted with some feral cunning ). In contrast show Cersei is fascinating to watch.
I honestly think Lena Headey, who I thought was fine but nothing all that special in the Sarah Connor Chronicles, deserved an emmy for this last season.
