Game show(s) you would have wanted to be on?

What is one game show that you would have really liked to have appeared on? Personally, after witnessing what Michael Russnow did on Split Second w/Tom Kennedy back in '72 with winning that car, I would have loved to be on that one.

Well, Jeopardy, of course - though that one I’ve still got a chance. Heh.

For defunct shows…

Mostly the sillier side of the game show universe.

Match Game (Probably the era with the wheel to select the celebrity for the final round, since that would be more interesting than just going with Richard.)
You Bet Your Ass (Canadian, on The Comedy Network, hosted by Stewart Francis. Mostly because while they gave Francis a lot of room to joke around, the format was really cool.)
Beat the Geeks (Just because…I would totally beat them. >_>)

I would have also liked to be on PYL, simply because the game was very simple to play-- just press a button, and either get money, a prize, or a Whammy (the studio design didn’t hurt either, with that rotating island).

Match Game, of course. But only if Richard Dawson was on with Brett.

Tic Tac Dough, because the questions were so easy to this 7th-grader. That makes TTD much more appealing than Hollywood Squares, which had the (I thought) rather insufferable Paul Lynde.

The Price is Right, as it was the King of Game Shows back when I played hooky.

There was a Scrabble kind of game (possibly called Scrabble for all I know) that was hosted by Alan Thicke - I was pretty good at that, too.

Big money big money no whammy no whammy STOP!

$64,000 Question (which later became $128,000 Question) - Not sure what I’d use as my topic anymore, though. Back when the show was on the air, I wanted to be on using Star Trek: TOS.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Jeopardy!

The Joker’s Wild

$100,000 Pyramid (I guess it’s just called *Pyramid *now)

The OP said one game show, though, so out of those I’d probably pick Millionaire. Jeopardy has more geek cred, but it seems like if you’re halfway smart you can win more money with less effort on Millionaire.

Chuck Woolery hosted Scrabble from 1984 to '90. Thicke is credited with hosting four game shows, but none appear to be crossword-oriented.

As for my choices, I’ve passed the qualifying tests for both Jeopardy! and Millionaire, but never got invited to tape an episode of either. Among older shows, I’d have enjoyed appearing on You Bet Your Life, if only to have the opportunity to set Groucho up for a zinger; To Tell the Truth, to see if I could be an impostor and fool the panel; or The Who, What, or Where Game, which was kind of like Jeopardy! with the “Daily Double” wagering element involved in each question.

Oh, and Rhyme and Reason, which featured Nipsey Russell at his finest. Unfortunately, most of the production run was destroyed, and only the pilot and finale are known to survive, so no new generation will ever discover reruns of this show.

What was the name of the Comedy Central game show where they asked you easy questions while doing horrible things to you to distract you?

Distraction

Deal or No Deal

I hated the show, but with reasonable luck, you get a good amount of money in a short time and not related to skill. Besides, I have the ultimate method. I would take the top numbered case(26, I think). Then I would just start opening case 1-5, 6-9, 10-12, or whatever the amount is just counting upwards. I have zero idea what the cases contain, so I wouldn’t bother “picking” random numbers. I know it makes no difference and it’d be fun to watch Howie reaction as I just pick them in numerical order.

The Gong Show, if only to see the Popsicle Twins in person. What? I’m only human.

Tried out for Jeopardy! once, but wasn’t selected.

Win Ben Stein’s Money would have been good, too.

Press Your Luck- I was too young, and Michael Larsen ruined it for me, but as a kid watching it every day I picked up on the idea that there was a pattern, I just never broke it down. Peter Tomarken was an awesome host, too.
