Garage Doors Left Open and Unattended

Ok.

Does keeping the big “Protected by GUARDIAN. 1-800-STAY OUT!” stickers from the previous owners’ alarm system prominently displayed in key locations in the windows count?

or is that just called “being lazy”?

Well, I had one who felt that his hurricane-proof windows, backed by him with a gun, were all the security he needed.

Let me tell you about the very rich. They are are not all that different from you and me. For instance, some are as dumb as rocks, and I mean the self-made ones. From my experience with the ones who inherited it, they are ALL as dumb as rocks. But my sample size is small, in part because they are such a tiny part of the population.

Weather is the issue where I live, not theft. But still, having seen neighbor’s garage doors open, I estimate 10% of them use their garages for cars, and the other 90% for junk.

This is absolutely true. It’s weird, really. In my subdivision I see all the piles of endless crap that fill all the garages to their very brims and I don’t see how someone could fit a person through there; forgeddabout a fuckin’ automobile.

A partially-open garage door allows pet cats/dogs a place to shelter, after the family has gone to sleep, if they didn’t get home in time.

About 6 years ago, two doors down, the neighbors left their garage door open about 1 foot to allow their cat to go in and out.
I suspect their son, 16, was a low level pot dealer (I would see cars stopping by at odd hours of the night for 10 minute “visits” while mom worked nights. No dad in the picture.)
One night a couple of guys crawled under that opening, were able to lift the garage a bit higher to get in, and shot and killed the kid.
Sad all around - I had seen the kid around and he was basically your normal high school guy who liked to play video games. Always said hello and smiled when he walked by the house.
