Also, garage sale signs may be permitted on traffic light poles or traffic sign poles, but they are generally prohibited on utility poles.
Guys, guys…
What are we selling in The Big Garage Sale That Is MPSIMS? The Mods? Old threads? Smileys?
Smileys - three for a dollar!
Mods - make us an offer.
Or, ‘Smiley’s—3 for a dollar’ to echo Bibliocat 's peeve.
:clapping smiley:
My cousin put up a sign for his friend’s yard sale on the telephone pole right outside my granny’s house on the corner. Huge chunk of odd-shaped plastic, covered in scribbles stating when/where/what we have/etc. screwed into the god damn pole.
The sign wasn’t so bad.
But the sign is still there.
Did I mention her yard sale was in June?
We’re waiting to see just how long it’s gonna take him to take that stupid thing down. I’m betting on Christmas, 2007.
Your problem was waiting 2 weeks. I like to take them down about 2 minutes after they go up. If they are on the tree lawn, they are on city property (or state, if you live on a state highway) and need a permit, if they are back farther, they are on private property and therefore trespassing occured to put them there unless you had prior permission. Light and utility poles belong to the city or the utility company, again, probably illegal or vandalism. I might be the reason you can’t find your garage sales. I hate those signs. Buy an ad in the paper, organize a community-wide garage sale date, truck your stuff to a rummage sale, or donate/trash your old stuff.
Once when I was little my mom had a garage sale and one of our neighbors drove around town and took down all the signs he could find because he didn’t want strangers driving through our neighborhood.
That guy was total asshole.
I bet you guys didn’t even know he owned the neighbourhood. Putz. (Him, not you.)
