Garden slugs vs. salt

I was just reading the question concerning those garden variety slugs and their adverse reaction to salt ( http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a2_073 ).
That raised the question; How many of these critters would one have to eat before it could be considered a slugfest?

    What we do, (brothers) is cut a plastic drink bottle in1/2  push ends into ground ,fill with left over dregs from night before. leave over night .Presto Container is full of slugs & snails.  EAt your hearts content!!!  Hey it keeps the snails out of our strawberry patch.

Sentiment tells you to take the slugs but you should take salt giving 4 1/2.

• You are not kidding. No later than last week I heard someone say that swallowing slugs cures stomach ulcers. Don’t ask me where I live. I’d be embarrassed to tell.
