Gary Oldman’s words have no impact on my sense of self-worth. They do, unfortunately, influence my sense of Gary Oldman’s worth.
FWIW Oldman apologized on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.
…Eh. Politically influential Jewish and Zionist movers-and-shakers in NYC and Washington maybe. Or it’s cover for the WASPs. Or they’re all just “money” and the same bunch.
Look, I don’t know.
My initial statement in this thread was pretty dumb. I just remember back during the invasion of Iraq, thinking it made no sense for the USA or Iraq, but some people on the news were giving the impression that this was about Israel. But maybe that’s a lie too, to play to the evangelicals, and yes, Jewish voters in some places. At this point, I don’t think the present mess in the Mid-East is doing Israel in general any good. But back then I wondered if it made sense in some dippy political way for the ruling factions in Washington and Jerusalem.
And for someone like Mel Gibson, who was probably raised with anti-Jewish assumptions, it might be an even more attractive idea. When he’s drunk.
We all have good and bad points. Good inclination and evil inclination, even. I get the impression Mel Gibson is mostly a pretty decent guy to people he’s worked with, but can be an ass in his personal life. And I guess he’s a lot more the stereotypical right-wing Anglo than, say, I am.
I’m mildly amused that you guys think I’m an ignorant provincial goy who doesn’t know any actual normal Jewish people. Sorry if I gave the impression that I buy into all of that Secret Protocols nonsense. I’m just trying to understand the millions and millions of suckers who do.
I love that movie and I can’t bear it. Oldman was massively overacting in that.
Did Oldman have anything to say about one of Gibson’s vilest statements: about “being gang raped by a bunch of n******”? And, foolsguinea, what do you think about it - you may know some “normal Jewish people”, but do you know any “normal” black people?
You know why I wouldn’t say anything like this when I’m drunk?
Because I don’t think anything like this when I’m sober.
Me too. Though I wasn’t particularly taken with his character (Tricky was awesome as the bumbling sidekick.)
Bwahaha!
Oh, and on the tangent, The Fifth Element was both really bad and quite enjoyable, and Gary Oldman was one contributor to the fun (though I think Mila Jovovich deserves more of the credit).
Uh-huh. Dude, when you’re in a hole, stop digging.
Beyond that, I don’t know why you’re defensively using the term “goy”. I don’t think anyone who’s criticized you other than Marley is Jewish.
I haven’t got time for this Gary Oldman bullshit!
