Well, there you go. Nothing like a little ad hoc empirical data to put a lid on things, so to speak.
Yeah, but sputtering to a halt at 10 below going up Eisenhower pass because a big glob of sludge broke loose and clogged the filter ain’t a whole lota fun either.
Not sure at the actual pumps, but on refinery terminals it’s a pretty big deal to track the volume pumped along with the temperature. Now, they might just be doing it for fun, or they might not have the temperature compensators that people are talking about, but there is at least something to it.
However, I’d be inclined to believe the “I’m likely to save only a few dollars in the course of my lifetime” line of thinking.
