Basically, a friend wants a laptop for Christmas & her Mom & I are talking about going in on it for her. She’s seen what appears to be a good deal on Gateway refurbished laptops on a major computer dealer on the Net. My own computer supplier, a local dealer, recommends against Gateways period, but I suspect that may be competitor’s bias. What says the Dopers?
