Gay gunslinger riles rednecks

No, those aren’t horns. The “bony protrusions” are just the shape of the skull. No one would mistake a horned cow for a dehorned one. T

Sorry about the yukky stuff but that’s reality. Finding more humane methods for some of the procedures is a recent innovation.

I don’t care what you guys say. It doesn’t matter whether cows still genetically have horns or not.

I’m offering practical advice here, not pie in the sky “genetic science.”

In the really real world (in which most of my cattle raping occurs) the fact is that most cows have no horns, and you can rape them without getting disembowled.

Most steers and bulls have horns which makes the contraindicated as potential rape victims.

Who cares how they got that way?

It really doesn’t matter for sexual purposes whether the cow was dehorned, or not.

The operative information is that the cow no longer has horns, and the bulls do.

::sheesh::

I mean why do you think they started dehorning cows in the first place?

Try raping one with horns and you’ll see what I mean.

Scylla, I think I can safely speak for the rest of the SDMB and say we’ll trust your experience in the area of cattle rape. If you want to stampede some women give me a call.

FWIW most heifers and steers are dehorned which may render your cattle rape logic moot. Often bulls are left horned but have weights placed on the ends of the horns as they start to grow. The horns curve down and end up pointing back to the bull’s face rendering them less dangerous. As to how less dangerous when sodomizing a bull I’ll once again defer to experience.
<sigh> Can we have at least one thread here that doesn’t turn to bestiality? A perfectly wholesome topic like homosexual gunfighters is once again turned into something dirty.

I think I’ve finally found a quote I want to use as my sig! May I?

I’d be honored Max.

Well no doubt this will be a hot topic at Gaylaxicon 2004 - San Diego, the annual GLBT sci-fi, fantasy, horror, comics & gaming convention I’m running.

When is that in 2004? I might be in California for the YAOI-con in late summer.

I just want to step in here and say, in an industry which is more and more often treating the older characters with respect and dignity, this is a horrible, horrible, horrible mistreatment of the character.

Nothing wrong with a gay cowboy. It’s the reimaging that’s the problem. In fact, something similar, but not identical, was done with the straight but foppish “Bat Lash” over at DC in the… hm. 80s? Great darn comic. This is looking like nothing more than a cheap grab for popularity, and an insult to those who have any attachment to the character. Marvel has a grand tradition of cowboy comics. This is not the way to create a long and durable revival.

Hamish, I don’t have a date yet - I’m looking at springtime right now. Keep in mind Comic-Con is in August.

…what do you think of it so far? I’ve bought and read all first four issues of the new Rawhide Kid. I like how the story is progressing. Your milegae may vary.

The miniseries “Slap Leather” will conclude with issue number 5.

Here’s a link to information on the original Rawhide Kid and why he’s called the ‘Rawhide Kid’.
