Effectively straight guy with a special calling to deal with the concerns of gay men checking in here.
I think the fact of the matter is that human sexuality covers a very broad spectrum (insert matt_mcl’s rainbow row of smileys here) and is actually multi-dimensional – what you may see as “attractive” in an aesthetic sense and what kicks your libido into high gear may be quite different things with an element of overlap.
I am deeply in love with my wife, who is not particularly physically appealing on an objective standard (I think she’s beautiful, but I doubt strongly she’ll get any offers from Playboy or its competitors to model). Next to her, the deepest love of my life is for my former ward and son in spirit, who is a chunky, overweight balding man approaching 30 – unlikely to get any offers from porn companies looking for new talent.
My personal erotic taste is for slender, willowy young women with firm, high breasts; they’re what catch my eye when I happen to pass by them. A slightly shy, demure attitude combined with that physical appearance definitely stirs my endocrine system.
But reflecting on the OP, a couple of Scottish extraction at our church have a 17-year-old boy who is six feet tall, very well built on the slender side of muscular, has the “chiseled” facial features of Leo DiCaprio with dark curly hair and bushy eyebrows, the sort of pert nose that is libidinously stirring on a girl approaching adulthood, and just an air of mystery about him (he’s somewhat introverted) that I can easily see why a gay or bi person would find him sexually attractive – he is a very attractive young man from a visual standpoint, even from my perspective.
