Gay Role Wish List

I would love to see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon play passionate lovers on the big screen. The plot would almost not matter. While we are at it, I would like to see Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves, and John Travolta play gay roles also.

The closest thing I’ve ever experienced to wanting to see some gay action on the silver screen was when I watched Interview With The Vampire. I just knew Antonio Banderas and Brad Pitt were gonna kiss down there in the catacombs (or sewer or whatever that place was supposed to be) under Paris.

Funny, I thought Tom Cruise and John Travolta were playing gay roles in real life and they were merely showing their acting talent by pretending to be straight onscreen.

Didn’t Keanu log some sack time with River Phoenix in My Own Private Idaho?

Oh, let’s see…

I’d like to see the gay sidekick actually find somebody at the end of the movie. Heck, I’d like to see a gay protagonist in a mainstream film. I’d like to see a gay relationship portrayed as happy, stable, and long-term, instead of conflicted, baseless, and/or doomed. I’d like to see a gay kiss played for sentimental value, instead of shock value. I’d like to see a reference to gay sex that’s not simply sensationalism. I’d like to see a buddy cop flick where the deep friendship and respect that develops between the two mismatched partners (concealed by witty banter and macho one-upmanship, of course) develops into a passionate relationship.

Oh, and Matt Damon can play any of the above.

Thanks.

i think onwe of the best gay characterizations (sp) in a film was in big daddy, adam sandlers two gay friends…wasn’t over the top, tey seemed like a nice stable couple…i could be wrong i haven’t seen it in a while, and they were kind of hot.
anyway, i also would give HUGE amounts of money to see tim olyphant gay again…i know he was in BHC, but i LOVE him. other than that, i can’t think of anyone who hasen’t already touched on the issue that i would like to see in a film as gay…i like surprises!

How about a gay character that isn’t a character just because he/she is gay? I agree with most of MrVisible’s list too, as it might reflect reality a little bit more.

Bah, I’ve been hiding out in my own little deserted island fantasy world too long, haven’t I?
