Gay/straight Dopers- let's compare fingers and hair swirls

Extremely gay male. Ring fingers are shorter than index, hair swirls clockwise (according to my boyfriend, I never really paid attention). Over the phone I’m often called ma’am but in general I’d say my voice is mid-tenor. Does this mean I’m really bi?

I have a lesbian right hand and a straight left hand. (ETA: I’m a straight woman)

However, I think I have to call bullshit a little on this finger length thing. I think my ring finger on my right hand is longer because that finger is pretty messed up from the way I write. I have a writing callus that alters the shape of my nail permanently, so I think my right ring finger is elongated for non-genetic reasons, and thus proves nothing.

This all reminds me of phrenology.

Straight male. Right hand ring finger slightly longer. Left hand it appears to be slightly shorter but that could be because I broke that metacarpal a few years ago. Lost my knuckle at the same time. I think my hair goes clockwise.

According to my fingers, I’m gay. This is cancelled out by my straight hair I guess. That’s good because otherwise I was going to have to have a really uncomfortable talk with my wife.

Bi female with ring and index fingers the same length. My hair doesn’t swirl, and never has, even when it was very short.

Apparently I’m right in the middle on everything.

Straight female:

Left ring finger same length as index finger, right ring is noticably longer than right index finger. Bi left & lesbian right, I guess.

A lesbian sounding voice  I have no idea, since I sound like a chain-smoking, gin-guzzling 8 year old boy. Medium pitched & raspy.

Big back hair swirls: Left goes counterclockwise, right goes clockwise.
Little top hair swirls: Left goes clockwise, right goes counter. What the hell is THAT supposed to mean?

Straight woman with one straight hand and one lesbian hand. I remember coming across that study about a year ago, and being completely freaked out that I had never noticed my mis-matched hands before. The difference is fairly glaring, now that I know about it.

Gay male.

Left hand: ring & index are equal. Right hand: ring is 1/2" longer.

Voice is basso. People tell me I don’t look or sound gay, which I resent.

My ring fingers are slightly shorter than my index.

I have no idea which way my hair “swirls.” It doesn’t blow seductively in the breeze, though. Stupid hair.

I have had people call me “faggot” on the phone a few times, but whether they are pegging me based on my voice or just typical straight morons who think calling someone a faggot is the worst thing in the world I don’t know.

As a straight male (with all the appropriate markers save hair), I’d just like to mention that I’m totally attracted to straight women with raspy voices and big back hair. :stuck_out_tongue:

Male.

Left hand: Ring finger slightly longer than index finger.
Right hand: Ring and index fingers appear to be exactly the same length. Measuring with sophisticated equipment would probably reveal a difference, but that’s too much effort to expend at this hour of the morning.

Hair: Clockwise, I think, but I’ve been combing it straight back into a ponytail for so many years (like 30) that I’m not sure anymore.

Voice: Very neutral. Many times over the years people have remarked on my complete lack of any regional or other accent whatsoever. Nobody has ever assumed I’m gay because of my voice or vocal patterns, but nobody has ever assumed I’m straight, either. If I’m hanging in a gay bar with friends, I won’t stand out.

Sexuality: Straight, but I suppose I could imagine circumstances where I would take a walk on the wild side, so to speak.

So I’m not quite sure where I fit here.

yeah, what he said.
