Gearheads: need help to "child lock" the front passenger seat

Some good ideas all. I’m still investigating. I think the plexiglass barrier may be the “best” solution as it allows my kid the anxiety reducing ability to actually move. The super seat belt idea would be cheaper and easier, but kidlet has a phobia about being restrained and things being “too tight” such as a bike helmet.

My goal is

  1. Cannot exit the vehicle
  2. Will not directly interfere with the driver
  3. Make it as easy as possible on my daughter to accomplish 1 and 2

I simply cannot allow the potential that she can jump out at a traffic light and into traffic. Twice was far too much and there will not a third time opportunity.

I know it’s not intended as protection, but if it’s not properly installed then it could come away and cause injury. No need to get angry, and it’s not me with the car!
