My mom is looking for pros and cons from anyone who has a gel fueled fireplace, and didn’t find much in her search. I figured a couple oDopers must have them, or know someone who does.
Any thoughts?
My dad has one. He likes it…they don’t give off much heat, if that’s a consideration. They’re basically ornamental. It’s fairly realistic, if you ignore the fact that you always have three uniform flames. It came with fake coal cinders that crackle when they’re heated to make it sound like a real wood fire. There are absolutely no fumes, or smoke, very clean. The fuel is a little expensive, though.
