Why are you confused? Why couldn’t both marriages be “until death”? Until Gilda’s death for his third marriage and his own death for his final one?
My point was, his third marriage seems more genuine than his first two because it didn’t end in divorce, if that helps to clear up your confusion.

Nobody’s mentioned his short-lived TV series Something Wilder. To this date, I can’t hear the name Alice Cooper without thinking “Barney.”
I’ll miss your acting, Gene.
A lot of people forget the theater role that first put Wilder on the map: he played the shy, stuttering Billy Bibbit in Kirk Douglas’ Broadway production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
