That would be Bill Barilko, a defensman for the Leafs. He scored in overtime in Game 5 of the 1951 Cup Final to win the Stanley Cup for Toronto. Later that summer, he and an acquaintance disappeared while on a fly-in fishing trip in Northern Ontario. Their bodies weren’t found until 1962, which was the year the Leafs won the Cup for the first time since '51.
