I believe your life is affected by two things: Genes and money.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but your physical and mental health at birth is determined by genes. This is luck all the way. you did not have an affect.

For the rest of your life, you are faced with challenges like finding a mate, getting a job, eating, drinking, buying a shelter. and health to a further extent.

I’d argue for environment as well. You can’t help to whom or where you are born. If you’re born to a tribe in Papua New Guinea, I’d say your options in education, lifestyle and your world-view outlook is quite limited and will influence your thinking in a profound way; smarts/money or not.

Also, I think you’re making a lot of baseless presumptions in your arguments. Sure, there are plenty of people who choose mates on looks alone, but I don’t think this is largely the case for those looking for lasting relationships. Believe it or not, but there are plenty of men and woman who aren’t as shallow as characters in a movie targeted at college humor would have you believe.

History is full of examples of people who did considerably better in life than their parents. How? They started off with the same genes as their parents, and no more money than them.

itsharkley, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are not shilling for that web site because you have participated in a few other threads, but you might want to consider that my first thought, as well, was that you were spamming the board. It is a rather silly site that does not promote confidence in your choice of resources.
