Genetic music?

Could music be made from the geneomic sequence?

Sure, you can make “music” out of any string of data. It would still require lots of human intervention like determining how it would be read in terms of notes, tempo etc.

It’s been done. For even more links, do a search on “dna music” or “genetic music”

On a related, still-earlier note (no pun intended), Primo Levi postulated in one of his short sci-fi stories [“Man’s Friend,” in The First Day and Other Stories (1966)] a similar phenomenon in the patterns of tapeworm epithelial cells. In this fantastic tale, the tapeworm cells express, through their infinite variety of patterns, various kinds of poems and messages from parasite to host, ranging from epic odes of praise when food is abundant, to short lamentations deploring inhospitable, toxic conditions (as when the host took deworming medicine).
