George Lucas Buys a Vadermobile

It’s a Mosler supercar, with the same serial as the Tucker he used to own.

Interesting.

What, not serial # 1138?

Brian

Well, Tuckers stop at serial 1051. so. . .

Wow… I have never ever seen anything in my life that looked so very much like a McLaren F1 that wasn’t a McLaren F1. It even has a roof scoop.

It’s even more ripoffy than the Saleen S1.

Actually, it probably goes the other way. Mosler has been building racing cars for a number of years now (Warren Mosler, the founder, was the accountant for a number of years at some big software firm and is now insanely rich because of his stock options). Their race cars tend to get banned from competition very quickly as Mosler doesn’t give two whits about appearance, only aerodynamic function and his cars win quite easily, so the governing body rewrites the rules so he can’t use the car again (IIRC, they draft new rules the moment his cars cross the finish line). He’s been working on that car for a number of years now. There was a write up on it in Car and Driver several years back where they talked about his racing operation (and describing his cars as looking like something Captain Nemo would drive) as well as his plans to build this car. Insanely sophisticated operation, too. All his CAD designer has to do is to hit a button and Mosler’s machines get to work on building the car.
