I don’t see that in the article about Michael himself, but about a prior romantic partner.

So 2016 claims another great talent.
Older is absolutely one of my all-time favorite albums. In addition to his excellent vocals, Michael also arranged and produced the album, wrote all but two of it’s songs, and was bassist, keyboard player, drummer, percussionist and programmer on it as well. Six of the album’s eleven tunes hit the Top 3 on the UK charts, a record that stands today. Older is his finest work in my opinion.
Such a loss.
I’d been having some trouble with iTunes & I’d listened to some of his music just yesterday.
He was very talented (hey You make a sexier music video than “Freedom 90”) & of my generation.

I’ve been really sad this year but this one is the worst for me. A relative just said to me “well, he hasn’t done much lately” and it angered me. So? I still listen to his first two albums all the time. He wasn’t just someone I listened to in the 80s. He was still a big part of my daily life today.
It says “heart failure” now.

Perhaps my favorite singer. Listen Without Prejudice and especially Waiting for That Day are in my top tier of albums and songs.
I didn’t like all of his stuff, but when he nailed it, he nailed it. Kissing a Fool, Freedom, Father Figure, to name three of my favs. And his tribute to Freddie Mercury, Somebody to Love, is brilliant. Absolute perfection.

All right, as I go down the rabbit hole of GM videos on YouTube tonight, I’m reminded of what an amazing vocalist he was. Even in the songs I’m not crazy about, he just *sounds *incredible-- studio and live.

Damn. I hate hearing about all these people dying who were so young, they could have been my kids. At least Zsa Zsa held out to 99 … but even she couldn’t beat 2016.
According to his Wiki page, he also had a long-running drug problem which included multiple arrests. I sure hope that’s not why he died.
