Geraldo: "Some people love me; some people hate me." Anybody here love him?

I loathe him, but have a friend who continues to defend him because of the Willowbrook State School story.

I say fine, he did a good job on that – 30 years ago – and has since had fat taken out of one part of his body and injected into another, on TV, which pretty much means the entire rest of his careet can be discounted.

Even a blind pig can find an acorn once in a while.

I’m glad to hear about this. It’s always good to hear something good about someone who otherwise seems to be a complete dirtball. I think Geraldo has probably caused more harm to the public perception of journalists than any other individual.

I think I’m going to find his website and see if I can get one of his lackeys to tell me what percent of his mail is fanmail and what percent is hate mail. I’ll let you know if I get results.

Isn’t that damning with faint praise?

Geraldo on tape dealing with hard news is tolerable. Geraldo live in full drama queen ad-lib is excruciating.

I think Geraldo’s marriage record proves even his five wives didn’t love him for very long. He’s a notorious slut.

I know this is slightly irrelevant, but in the pullin household we refer to him as “Horrendous Revolver”. For some reason we find this funny.
(and No, we don’t like him)

Perhaps because I didn’t follow the story closely, I still don’t understand why he wasn’t summarily shot by an officer when he was giving troop movements on television.

That’s my question. He shoulda been shot and the guy who pulled the trigger shoulda gotten a medal. Og knows if I’d have been there, I’d have done it (if I could have bothered to wait that long for the excuse).

Cookie crumbs? dried soup? Weapons of Mass Distruction?

“And for doing your job, we proudly present you with the Bronze Thumbs Up. America thanks you.”

I agree completely. Once he was a fine young crusading journalist; now he’s a preening publicity whore. He has no credibility at all nowadays. The botox, Al Capone’s vault, and then revealing the location of U.S. troops during the invasion of Iraq… ugh. Begone, Geraldo, and good riddance.

Good God, that was 1972! Seems kinda sad we have to go back over 30 years to find something remotely redeemable.

So, we have Willowbrook Alumni…Check.

Right-wing pundits (like O’Reilly, Novak, etc.)…Check.

Anyone else?

… well, even Geraldo has to have parents. They might not love him, but I am sure they don’t hate him

…maybe

I don’t like him. The word “smarmy” fits him perfectly.

I don’t quite hate him, but he is a big pile of ick. At least he’s not as bad as Maury Povich–that man just oozes nastiness.

Geraldo and Mick Jagger??!!

I just LOVE Geraldo.

No, wait a minute: I love GELATO.

Sorry.

I used to hate him. Now I just kind of feel sorry for him. I’m not sure why. I guess it’s just because he became such a parody of himself. Remember when he was drawing diagrams in the sand to illustrate US troops positions? That was SNL material all by itself.

I love him because he always reflects. He is all the kinds of the fucked-up we’re in- He’s the groteskerie of America in all venues.

I don’t love or hate him. I just find him a repulsive, reptilian form of pseudo-journalist. I immediately change channels if he shows up on my tv. Yes, I have met him and I assigned my least qualified person as his escort since I didn’t want to waste real journalists’ time on him.
